A MUM in Australia has been accused of trying to kill her critically ill baby boy by pouring bleach down his feeding tubes.

Brooke Evelyn Lucas, 26, was arrested yesterday and charged following the alleged incident, police in Perth said.

According to 9News Australia, police allege the 13-month-old’s mother poured the cleaning chemical into his feeding tubes on December 29, just five days after he was discharged from Perth Children’s hospital.

Infant William was then rushed to Perth Children’s hospital and according to Perth Now, he has since been discharged.

Just days before the alleged incident, the mum had posted on Facebook saying her son’s discharge from hospital was a “Christmas miracle”.

“William has been discharged from PCH and will be spending his first Christmas at home.

“I am in tears after he was so sick Friday and Saturday that he needed to be admitted into hospital.”

The 26-year-old faced Perth Magistrates court today where it’s claimed she was “inconsolable” as she appeared before the judge.

Brooke Evelyn Lucas has been remanded in custody and will be back in court on Monday.
